Effective therapeutic scaffolding to support client success
The Neurosequential Model of Assessment is a collaborative, strengths-focused approach, helping you access the most effective resources and approach for you clients, as we tap into your best clinical thinking and consider a cross-disciplinary perspective of change.
This approach will create a 4-page visual map representing relative risks and strengths across (4) functional areas:
Sensory Integration
Self-Regulation
Relationships
Executive/Cortical Function
You’ll be able to conceptualize patterns of coping, developmental history, influences of chronic stress, attachment, and the connection between stressors, trauma symptoms, and developmental risk at different ages and stages—from infancy to adulthood.
Possible Outcomes:
Effective sensory-smart strategies for daily function and stress-coping
Highlight targeted regulation activities
Highlight areas for educational advocacy or social-emotional support
Clarify symptom clusters, differential diagnosis, or complex challenges to help fine-tune your treatment approach
Set realistic goals that more accurately reflect functional challenges or support needs
Super-support parents in tuning into therapeutic supports, extracurricular activities, and specific educational supplements likely to be most beneficial and accessible for child clients
Make sense of complex trauma presentations, with adult or child clients
Understand how functional brain capacity may be influencing the sequence and pace of treatment options
Develop more focused and intentional referrals for supplemental support, including enhancements for the environment and family system
Help your client access more therapeutic benefits and support caregivers’ stamina
I’m happy to help you discern your best next steps and tune into your clinical decision-making. Between January and June 2024, I’m providing these clinical consultations pro bono to support fellow clinicians.
The functional brain map created through this process is not intended to share with clients directly, nor to be included in your client’s file.
