SPRING 2026
Mondays, 11:30AM-12:30PM Pacific on Zoom
60 min weekly
March 2 + 9 (No meeting 3/16 + 3/23)
March 30 @ 11AM — I have a prior commitment at 12noon
April 6, 13, 20, 27
May 4 (if needed)
The tail-end of the school year can be really tricky—and highly sensitive kids with regulation challenges can often benefit from extra support when everyone’s feeling burnt-out.
Why does this series focus on high sensitivity and BIG behaviors?
Because parenting with attention to regulation, connection, anxiety, and easing stuck spots often calls for a different approach than traditional parenting strategies. I do my best work with families ready to go beyond reward and consequences—with real curiosity about what will actually help shift pushback, defiance, and flares of aggression.
We’ll cover practical tools for navigating the gap between how kids are showing up at school and behaviors you’re seeing at home. Whether that means supporting anxious kids or easing intensity around sibling conflict and daily upsets (PS: these are often related to both anxiety AND high sensitivity!).
I regularly hear from families navigating challenging dynamics in everyday tasks, like…
- irritability and sensitivity to correction/feedback that make communication difficult
- transitions ending in meltdowns…or deep resistance, before they can even begin
- automatic “No” responses…even to things your kid will likely or has recently LOVED!
- trouble settling for sleep, night wetting or waking, and lots of worries during the day…that tend to spill over just before bedtime
- defiance or aggressive reactions to reasonable requests, like chores, hygiene tasks, etc.
These are all common in kids with high-revving energy and novelty-seeking behaviors. And these traits often coincide with intensified tantrums, rigid demands, trouble regulating emotions, and/or difficulty following directions.
I'll teach about the brain science of behavior, share practical tools that help shift out of conflict and overwhelm, tips for advocacy at school, and TONS of support for you.
This is not intended as individual therapy; instead, we’ll focus on nervous system education, child development, understanding neurodiversity, decoding BIG behaviors, and knowing what tools to use when.
We will not be approaching parenting from a perspective of diagnosis or assessment, though this series offers a wonderful supplement to work you may be doing with other professionals (occupational therapy, psychotherapy, or tutoring).
Many families who’ve completed this course have expressed how helpful it’s been in navigating power struggles, sensory issues, learning challenges, understanding traits of neurodivergence, demand avoidance, and medical or special needs; many of these real-life dynamics are not reflected in traditional parenting books/philosophies and not adequately addressed in most school settings.
This course was created by Robyn Gobbel, host of The Baffling Behavior Show. I’ll joyfully tailor the content and examples to your family’s strengths and challenges. Your questions are welcome every time we meet.
