Brains in Bloom (familiar families discount)
✨ This invitation is for families who’ve worked with me previously—in a parent group, or 1:1
Meeting virtually for 3 weeks :: Please join me in this community parent course, open to both therapy clients and folks who read my parent newsletter.
Fall 2026
Mondays, 9AM-10:30 Pacific on Zoom
90 min weekly
September 28
October 5 + 12
The start of the school year can be really tricky—and highly sensitive kids with regulation challenges can often benefit from extra support getting settled and finding a rhythm.
Why does this series focus on high sensitivity and BIG behaviors?
Because parenting with attention to regulation, connection, anxiety, and easing stuck spots often calls for a different approach than traditional parenting strategies. I do my best work with families willing to go beyond rewards and consequences—with real curiosity about what will actually help shift stuck spots, defiance, ignoring, and even aggression.
We’ll cover strategies for bridging the gap between how kids are showing up at school and behaviors you’re seeing at home. Whether that means strategies for anxiety or easing intensity around sibling conflict and daily upsets (PS: these are often related to both anxiety AND high sensitivity!).
Families drawn to this series are often seeing challenging dynamics in everyday tasks, like…
- irritability and sensitivity to correction/feedback that make communication difficult
- transitions ending in meltdowns…or deep resistance, before they can even begin
- automatic “No” responses…even to things your kid will likely LOVE or enjoyed previously!
- trouble settling for sleep, night wetting or waking, and lots of worries during the day…that tend to spill over just before bedtime
- defiance or aggressive reactions to reasonable requests, like chores, hygiene tasks, etc.
These are all common in kids with high-revving energy and novelty-seeking behaviors. And these traits often coincide with intensified tantrums, rigid demands, trouble regulating emotions, and/or difficulty following directions.
I'll teach about the brain science of behavior, share a practical framework that helps shift out of conflict and overwhelm, and TONS of support for you.
This is not intended to be a therapy or process group; we’ll focus on nervous system education, child development, understanding neurodiversity, decoding BIG behaviors, and exploring what types of strategies to use when.
We will not be approaching parenting from a specific diagnosis. Instead, we’re recognizing that some traits of neurodivergence can spark parenting challenges, and this series offers a wonderful supplement to your child’s therapeutic work or what you may be doing with other professionals (occupational therapy, your own psychotherapy, or executive function skills).
Many families who’ve completed this course have expressed how helpful it’s been in navigating power struggles, sensory issues, learning challenges, understanding impulsivity, demand avoidance, and medical or special needs; some of these real-life dynamics are not reflected in traditional parenting books/philosophies and not adequately addressed in most schools.
This course was created by Robyn Gobbel, host of The Baffling Behavior Show. I’ll joyfully tailor the content and examples to the strengths and challenges of families attending. Your questions are welcome each time we meet.
INCLUDED
3 (90-min) video sessions
Weekly topics with TONS of examples to guide you
Discussion and your questions every session
Email support between sessions (up to twice a week)
You’ll get a link to download a printable parent workbook with guided reflection prompts. These are totally optional, and we’ll have other multi-media resources, as well.
Because this is an interactive and connection-focused series, it’s important to me to teach it LIVE, so I can answer your questions and tailor examples. For these reasons, I encourage you to join us live and will protect time for you to Ask Me Anything each session. The teaching portion WILL BE recorded, in case you need to miss a class in the series.
Confidentiality
An added note for families who’ve worked with me previously, I won’t reference things from our 1:1 conversations, nor acknowledge any therapy relationship, as confidentiality is an important commitment to our work. You are certainly welcome to share to your own level of comfort about what brings you to the group and openly ask questions in our discussions. Together, we’ll establish group agreements to create a sturdy space for everyone’s support.
You’re of course welcome to pass on this class, as there is no expectation that you attend. Simply put, I’m inviting you because I believe the potential benefits are significant, however, declining this invitation will not otherwise impact our 1:1 work.
Please review Terms + Conditions before purchase, as this community-based class has different parameters than therapy.
I don’ t expect that this series will be insurance reimbursable.
Feel Good Exchange
Part of my belief in the power of groups is the possibility to multiply our mindful experiments by witnessing what other folks are trying and learning. Your sharing with one another is one of the greatest benefits of this format. If you have questions, I encourage you to attend live and share these in our small group discussion, as this has the power to benefit everyone! I will facilitate our discussion, guiding examples, and teaching strategies without shame or blame. We are here for mutual benefit and communal support, learning new things and shifting how we hold and understand behaviors—our own, our kids’, one another’s.
For folks who prefer 1:1 support, you’re welcome to email me between class days, or bring them to a private parent session.
I’m looking forward to diving into this material together, alongside other families!
